Why are President Obama’s favorite journalists all white men?

White House flack Dan Pfeiffer sat down with BuzzFeed to answer a few questions and the subject of how the president gets his news came up. Particularly, which opinion writers are on the president’s reading list:

Hardest hit in all of this? MSNBC from the looks of it:

However, Pfeiffer said: “Where he does not consume a lot of media is on television.”

The president does not watch cable news, with its horse-race political coverage, or the morning news shows.

Bonus:

Asked about more new-media platforms, Pfeiffer said Obama does not use Twitter.

“Tumblr is something we had to explain to him,” Pfeiffer said.

What’s there to explain on Tumblr? It’s kind of basic.

And as the president needed an explanation of Tumblr, what does that say about his ability to understand the technological complexities of HealthCare.gov?
