The Mabry Mill restaurant is a licensed National Park Service concessionaire along the Blue Ridge Parkway in Meadows of Dan, Virginia. Like the Pisgah Inn in North Carolina and Carrot Tree Kitchens in Virginia, Mabry Mill was forced to close its doors so the Spite House could make Americans feel the government shutdown pain.

The operator estimates the restaurant and gift shop lost around $65,000 during the 10 days her business was closed during the fall tourism season.

But now that the federal government agreed to allow the Pisgah Inn to reopen in return for dropping legal action, Mabry Mill is back in business. Take that, Spite House!

GOP Rep. Morgan Griffith reportedly helped the restaurant work out an arrangement to reopen without being harassed by the government.

The restaurant posted this on Facebook on Friday:

It’s a beautiful day on the Blue Ridge Parkway! We are open 8-6 every day through at least Oct. 31st. Many thanks to all who have worked to get Parkway concessions re-opened. We also wish to thank the Parkway staff and especially the Park Rangers who have worked with us during this difficult time. Also, the Mill house will be open daily 9-4. Thanks again, come see us soon!!
