Terror arrests nab two who entered US as Iraqi refugees

Terror-related arrests were made Thursday in Sacramento, Calif., andHouston, Texas. In bothcases, the suspects are said to have ties to ISIS, but authorities are saying there is no immediate danger to the public.

U.S. Attorney Benjamin B. Wagner announced in a statement ThursdaythatAws Mohammed Younis Al-Jayab, 23, of Sacramento, a Palestinian born in Iraq, was arrested on charges that heallegedly traveled toSyria in 2013 to fight with various terrorist organizations, including Ansar al-Islam. He returned to the United States in 2014.

In Houston, the FBI arrested 24-year-oldOmar Faraj Saeed Al Hardan, also a Palestinian born in Iraq who entered the United States as an Iraqi refugee.Al Hardan allegedly attempted to provide material support and resources, including training, expert advice and assistance, and personnel(himself)to ISIS.He is also charged with lying about terrorist ties and weapons trainingwhen applying to become a naturalized U.S. citizen.

Both suspects are scheduled to appear in court tomorrow.
