Let’s talk money specifically YouTube advertising rates.

 

Just how much do these YouTube ads cost? After all, what things can you do to make sure that you’re gon na get a positive return on investment from your YouTube Ads? Well, that’s, what this video is all about – and I’ve got a few simple tips to help make sure that your next effort is maximally effective.

 

The first thing you need to know when it comes to YouTube Ads is that there are several different placements and options and formats available for you.

 

You’ve got everybody’s, favorites trueview in the stream, ads those skippable ads.

 

You see right before trying to watch your favorite video There are also bumper ads short six-second videos and you got trueview discovery ads that allow you to show up for popular search terms.

 

There are other options available as well, but inside the agency, we tend to use trueview in-stream ads about 90 of the time. So if you’re brand new, probably a good place to start Now, the beauty of YouTube Ads is that you only pay.

 

If somebody engages or takes action with your video, This could mean watching 30 seconds of it or clicking on it, depending on which format you’ve chosen, But no action means no cost.

 

This is amazing and a huge breath of fresh air for businesses who are used to advertising on kind of the old school media, like newspapers or radio, or even on TV, where you’re going to be paying regardless.

 

If someone takes action or not Still, the fact that you only have to pay for the action doesn’t give you a free pass to create a terrible video ad.

 

After all, you do want your ad to convert into clicks and customers and eventually revenue Plus, as we’re on a cover in the next section, better videos, equal, better results, and cheaper costs.

 

Advertising on YouTube is much the same as the other ad platforms like Facebook, Ads, or Instagram Ads, in that they act like an auction.

 

This means they take into consideration several different factors, including the targeting the placement, the quality of the ad, and even the season or time of day that it’s running Well.

 

They then try to find you a place and bill you accordingly.

 

Now, this stuff can get pretty technical pretty fast.

 

So if you’re brand new, my advice is just to leave things as automatic as possible. All that said, there are three things that you can do to immediately improve your ad results and therefore decrease your costs.

 

The very first thing you want to do in your ad is call out or get the attention of your ideal target market and with who you’re, trying to communicate within your ad.

 

You want to make sure you do this in the first five seconds, though, because remember that the skip button is only a click away Now by calling out your target market and making sure to do it in the first five seconds.

 

It does two things, and it does them well.

 

 

The first thing is that it identifies that exact, ideal target market that you’re, trying to communicate with And draws them in by calling them out.

 

The next thing it does is it lets everyone who isn’t your ideal target market know that this isn’t for them and lets them go ahead and skip This saves them time and your money.

 

The next thing you can do is make sure your targeting is on point.

 

This means spending a little bit of time ahead of time and crafting out that ideal customer avatar and exactly who you’re trying to reach Now, fortunately, YouTube Ads, uses the Google Ads platform, which means you’ve, got a ton of different targeting options available, including Demographic details and interest targeting and pretty much everything in between If you’s got an Email list or a YouTube audience well, you can also leverage these with YouTube retargeting, which I highly recommend.

 

The final tip here is to make sure to level up the overall quality of your ad.

 

Now I’m not saying you need a Hollywood Level Production and in fact, even a selfie. Video can work just fine, But you need to make sure that the content of your ad is dialed in and on point.

 

At the end of the day, it’s the content and the words inside the ad that are gon na make the sale more than the overall production value.

 

So spend a few extra minutes, or even a few extra hours ahead of time, and craft out the perfect video ad script for your next video ad.

So now that we’ve got all that covered where’s the best place to start Well, seeing as YouTube ads do operate like an auction, the rates can vary depending on the industry and the ad and the targeting that you’re choosing.

 

But overall we tend to see ad view rates somewhere around the range of five cents to thirty-five cents, a view If you’re just getting started.

 

Even a budget of ten bucks a day is enough to get in the game and start testing out a few different videos and a few different targeting options.

 

Bonus points, if you’re already running Facebook, Ads, or Instagram Ads, because often you’re able to take parts of that message or parts of the styling import them over to YouTube, obviously modified for the YouTube audience.

 

But you’re able to cut down on the learning curve of what type of message is gon na work with your ideal target market Either way.

 

The best way to get started is just to dive in because, just like, we saw with Google Ads years ago, where the prices skyrocketed as soon as everybody realized how effective they were in rock music playing.
